The original fantasy art,
Mardi Gras by artist Betty Padden, is featured on this gorgeous collectible ornament by Ne'Qwa Art. A large bright yellow crescent moon, with an enchanting face, wears a colorful striped jester hat and Mardi Gras beads floats on a black night sky surrounded by fireworks. Introduced in 2007, the art has been reverse hand painted on the inside of the mouth blown glass ornament that measures 5.5 inches tall, is in the princess shape and comes beautifully packaged in a hand crafted, satin lined, velour presentation case, with a Certificate of Authenticity, enclosed in a Ne'Qwa Art signature protective box.
NeQwa Art is the largest producer of the centuries old tradition of painting on the inside of glass. The same meticulous techniques that captivated emperors and art connoisseurs ages ago are used to create each of their decorative accessories. From outlining to shading to color application, all work is painstakingly done in freehand. Known in the Mandarin language as Ne'Qwa, the artistic tradition of reverse painting on the inside of glass flourished during the 17th century, when snuff bottles were valued fashion accessories in China.
